LET’S MAKE WESLEYAN ACCESSIBLE…FOR EVERYONE

Like myself, many disabled and mobility challenged people know that the majority of online resources for accessible travel/transportation and school resources can be limited, unreliable, and all-around confusing.

Find all of the resources you need for Wesleyan Accessibility in one convenient and easy to use place!

Accessibility Services

The mission of Accessibility Services is to create an accessible and inclusive learning environment where disability is recognized as an aspect of diversity. They are here to:

  • promote and facilitate access through outreach and training, collaborative partnerships, innovative programs, and proactive solutions across the campus
  • create inclusive environments by engaging and supporting the campus community in evaluating accessibility
  • consult regarding the reduction of barriers for persons with disabilities
  • ensure the effective delivery of accommodations

The Office for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

The Office for Equity & Inclusion provides leadership and guidance to address systemic inequities for all members of the Wesleyan community.

They are a welcoming team of professionals here to lend an ear to your concerns, answer questions, and mentor you as you navigate the Wesleyan landscape.

Everyone at The Office for Equity & Inclusion has an open door policy – which means if their doors are open, you are most welcome to come right in – no appointment is necessary.

The Resource Center

The Resource Center (RC) seeks to support, empower, and engage students with underrepresented and marginalized identities at Wesleyan University.

The student and professional staff of the center will serve as a resource and connection hub for students to maintain awareness of matters related to intolerance and inaccessibility and to lessen violence in matters related to social identities and human differences on campus.

Accessibility Committee

Wesleyan University is committed to providing equal access for all individuals in a manner that enables them to achieve their academic and professional goals and aspirations. This includes equal access to all academic, social, cultural, and recreational programs we offer.
In May 2016 a Campus-wide Accessibility Committee was formed. This committee has representation from staff, faculty, and students. The committee is dedicated to scanning the campus for continued accessibility barriers in the digital, physical, and educational domains.
